For years we used standard rain gear to spray concrete and we still use it on some jobs. However, rain gear becomes extremely hot inside, and most rain wear is not tough enough to handle the abuse given by the concrete hose.
A good nozzle operator can decimate a $40 rain suit in one afternoon. Our smock ties down the back. The front of the nozzleman is always protected. The back is relatively open and allows air to circulate around the body. We sell pants and short smocks which are thigh length.
